About Spoorwijk

The Spoorwijk branch of the public library has been housed in De Wissel community centre since November 1993. The layout was completely revised in 2007 by the architect Ingeborg Kleijnjan, with a great deal of emphasis on light and transparency. This has resulted in a pleasant area that fulfils all modern requirements and is a lively meeting place for local residents.

About 66,000 visitors – most of whom are young people – come to the library every year.
For this reason, our collection mainly consists of books, magazines and DVDs for youngsters, as well as (informative) books for adults. The new 4You! area contains books and DVDs suitable for young people aged 12 and over. The area has been specifically designed and laid out in a way that appeals to youngsters, to encourage them to make full use of the collection. In addition, the library has a wide range of newspapers and magazines for adults, which are extensively enjoyed. Spoorwijk Library organises numerous activities for young and old alike in cooperation with other organisations in the neighbourhood.

The library has a fully-equipped Telematics centre. Young people can use the 12 multimedia computers to do their homework or for recreation, while adults can access the Internet facilities. The library provides computer courses in the Telematics centre outside opening hours.

How to get there You can take bus 18 or tram 16 to get to this library.
